May 5, 2024 - Start-up Update
5/5/2024
Dear Patrons:
We plan to reopen the headgate at the river on Monday morning May 6th.
We have inspected as much of the main canal pipe as possible before we restart water flows. Unfortunately, the remote video equipment which we had hoped to use for inspections of pipeline was not available on a timely schedule. The possibility remains that some undetected debris may again cause a blockage. Should there be a blockage, we have enlisted the assistance of other Central Oregon irrigation districts who will help us get the system restarted as rapidly as possible.
Our plan is to begin operations with water flows at the lower end of the design range in order to flush any remaining debris from the pipeline. Water should reach the piped section of the main canal on Tuesday; we intend to flush the piped section until Wednesday morning. On Wednesday we will recalibrate the automated controls for the piped sections. We will keep you informed of the progress of the restart and when you can expect to see water at your delivery point.
Once again, our apologies for the delays and thanks for your patience. We remain grateful to the Arnold employees, contractors, and consultants, who have worked diligently to help us resolve these issues.
